Government will punish those who spread rumors on social media: Information Minister
The government will find those who are involved in disturbing the peace and prosperity of the country by using social media and will give exemplary punishment.
He made the remarks while exchanging views with reporters in the conference room of the Information Ministry at noon on Thursday (October 14).
He said, “Having been failed to deal with the Hon'ble Prime Minister Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina politically, a quarter is engaged in spreading rumors. And they are always involved in spreading rumors using social media to destroy the peace and harmony of the country. The government is determined to find them out and give them exemplary punishment.”
The Information Minister further said that a section of the people opposed independence, they are always conspiring against the development and progress of the country. They do not want communal harmony in Bangladesh. That is why rumors are circulating at different times.
The minister said, "My request to the people of the country is not to listen to any rumors, not to be confused." Those who have spread or are trying to spread rumors will be identified. Currently the situation is under complete control. Celebrate Puja (worship) without any hindrance.
